Welcome to LifeKids!
Thank you for considering us for your church! We are excited to partner with you in nurturing your child’s faith, growth, and joy in a safe and loving environment. This parent pack provides all the information you need to feel confident about your child’s experience with us.
Our Kids' Church is a vibrant, Christ-centered program designed for children ages 4yrs (fully potty trained and not in pull-ups) through 5th grade to learn about God’s love, build friendships, and grow spiritually through age-appropriate activities, worship, and teaching. Our mission is to create a fun, safe, and engaging space where kids can discover Jesus and develop a lifelong faith.
Our Values:
Faith: Teaching Biblical truths in a way kids can understand and apply.
Safety: Prioritizing your child’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Community: Fostering a sense of belonging through relationships with peers and caring leaders.
Fun: Making learning about God exciting through games, crafts, and interactive lessons.
Check-in: You will fill out information on your child, your child receives a sticker, and you receive a sticker that you will keep and bring back at pick-up (more information on check-in below). After kids check in they will sit and watch a Bible story until the service starts at 10am.
Worship: Fun music with actions to get kids engaged in worshiping the King!
Small Group Connect: Kids split into two groups based on their ages. Small groups are designed for kids to get to know one another and the teachers/helpers better. (Group 1: 4yrs-2nd grade & Group 2: 3rd grade-5th grade)
Snack time: We serve only water and a snack that is allergy friendly, gluten free, sugar free and dye free. Parents never have to worry about what their child is eating while in kids church.
Large Group Lesson: All the kids come together to learn a lesson. We teach through the Bible chronologically every year so they can know how each story fits together, to tell the Big Bible Story of God’s love and redemption. Our faith in God should be a living and active faith, one that affects how we interact with the world around us. For this reason, our lessons are designed to help kids apply their faith in everyday situations.
Journey Today Show: The kids will join the Journey Today Team in these hilarious, fun and exciting videos that help engage the kids even more in the lesson. They will answer questions about the videos and read scripture.
Small Group Activities: The kids divide up again after the Big Lesson so they can dive even deeper into what they learned in an age appropriate way. They learn their memory verse for the month and do fun activities!
Respond Stations: During this quiet time the kids are divided up again into Group 1 & Group 2 to respond to God about what they’ve learned in the lesson. God wants more than just our minds and hands, He wants our hearts, too! Every lesson gives kids an opportunity to respond to God through prayer, Bible reading, drawing, or writing. Group 1 will do a respond station that the teacher has chosen but Group 2 will have an opportunity to pick a station for how they would like to respond to God.
Check-out: At this time you will pick up your child with the sticker that you were given at check-in. We only release kids to people who are on their approved pick-up list. (more information on check-out time below)
Check-In: Begins at 9:40 & ends at 10:15 at our Kids' Church Welcome Desk. Parent, guardian or adult must sign in their children for security. New parents/guardian will fill out all information so that we have information on medical, allergies, and check-out. Once you have filled out the information we will print off one sticker for your child to wear that has their name, age and any medical or allergy information on it. The parent will also receive a sticker with a number on it that matches the number on the child’s tag. Please bring this sticker back at the end of the service to pick up your child. If you lose it, no worries just bring your photo ID instead.
Check-Out: Parents must present their check-in tag or ID to pick up their child after the service. Only people the parent has entered into our system are allowed to pick up that child. We will not release a child to someone who is not in our system. Please let the check-in volunteer know if there is someone that is not allowed to pick up your child.
Your child’s safety is our top priority. Here’s how we ensure a secure environment:
Screened Volunteers: All volunteers ages 18+ are background checked before entering a LifeKids room. No adult without a clear background check will be permitted in the classrooms.
Two Person Policy: LifeKids must maintain at least two volunteers in the classroom at all times, with at least one volunteer being an adult age 18 or older.
Secure Check-In/Out: Parents receive a unique tag to drop off and pick up their child.
Cameras are located in LifeKids and hallways, for the safety of your child and our volunteers.
Bathroom Policy: Only female volunteers are allowed to take a child to the bathroom. A volunteer will never be alone in the bathroom with a child at any time. Your child must be able to do everything they need to on their own to go to the bathroom. The entrance doors to the bathrooms are propped open but volunteers cannot see your child in the stalls. We leave the entrance doors open just in case of emergency. If your child has an accident we will contact you with your child’s sticker number on the sanctuary TVs. Volunteers are not allowed to change a child’s clothing.
Medical Info: We collect information about allergies or special needs to keep your child safe. There are no allergy related foods allowed in LifeKids to ensure the safety of those that have allergies.
Medical & Allergy Policy: LifeKids is a nut-free and gluten free environment. Parents can inform us of any additional allergies or medical concerns at registration. This information will be listed on your child’s name tag so teachers/helpers can be mindful of those concerns when dispersing snacks or treats. If your child develops any allergies after registration, just stop by the check-in desk and they will be able to update your child’s information in our system.
Emergency Procedures: Our team is trained to handle emergencies, and we have clear protocols in place. Teachers/helpers are equipped with emergency protocols in case of fire, inclement weather, medical emergencies, or lockdown. If any of these events occur, please follow the instructions given from the platform in the sanctuary. No children will be released during an emergency situation until LifeKids receives an all-clear from the proper authorities.
Families can watch the service online (youtube.com/lifechurch4u) if the child has experienced any of the following symptoms within the previous 24 hours:
A fever of 99 degrees or higher
Diarrhea or Vomiting – no matter the cause (i.e. medication, teething, etc.)
Colored mucus (runny nose that is not clear; in the eyes)
Any symptom of childhood diseases such as Scarlet Fever, Rubella, Mumps, Chicken Pox, or whooping cough
Sore throat, constant cough, or croup
Any unexplained rash
Any skin infection: boils, ringworm, impetigo, or any open sores
Pinkeye, redness of the eyes, or any other eye infection
Any communicable disease
Active lice
Cleaning Procedures: Our team follows cleaning and sanitation procedures that include
Asking all volunteers and children to use hand sanitizer upon entering the classroom.
Volunteers wipe down all surfaces after each service.
LifeKids is cleaned every week by our cleaning team.
"We can’t wait to meet your family and share the joy of Jesus with your kids. Thank you for trusting us with your most precious gift! We’re thrilled to have your family as part of our Kids' Church community!"
—Life Kids Team
Our Kids' Church is led by our leaders (18yrs and up), and our helpers (13yrs and up), who are a dedicated team of volunteers who love kids and are passionate about sharing God’s love. All team members are trained in child safety, teaching, and creating a welcoming environment.
We believe parents are the primary spiritual leaders of their children, and we’re here to support you! Here’s how you can engage:
Volunteer: Join our team as a teacher, helper, or check-ins or worship.
Parent Events: Attend our family nights and get to know the other families in our church.
Stay Connected: Look for the Go! Home Guides we send home with each child so you can see what they’ve learned about, how they responded to God, and what they will learn next week. Help them fill out the rest of the guide at home and have a quiet moment with your child and God.
What should my child bring?
They can bring their own Bible, if not we have one they can use. They can also bring offering, they often set goals to raise money for certain missions. Please label any personal items like Bibles or jackets.
What if my child has special needs?
We strive to accommodate all children. Please discuss your child’s needs so we can create a great experience.
What if my child is nervous?
Our team is trained to help kids feel at ease. Parents are welcome to take a tour of LifeKids after a service. You are welcome to peek in the door and check how your child is doing. But in order to be in a classroom, we require our volunteers to have a background check and interview with us. The safety of your child is of the utmost importance to us. We are careful to only allow approved volunteers with the children. If you’d like to serve in a class we would love to have you as a volunteer! If your child remains uncomfortable with being there, we will contact you in the sanctuary on the TVs with the number on your sticker you received during check-in.
What if you need me for any reason during the service?
The number on the sticker you received at check-in will be displayed on all of the TVs in the sanctuary. Please bring that sticker or your ID and head up to LifeKids. If for some reason you don’t see the number on the TV a member of our greeting team will come and get you.
Have any questions or want to learn more?
You can ask the teachers any questions after a service is over and all kids have been checked out. This is so that the process of check-in and check-out goes smoothly. If you don’t want to wait after a service, please call or email us.
